Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas...

We have just woken up on boxing day morning - again at 5.45 am !! Not sure why Imogen is waking so early !?

Christmas eve we had Rachel's brother, sister and respective partners Tracy and Steve, and also Steve's parents who are over from the UK, and Rachel's Dad Ian and his partner Elaine. We gorged ourselves an Roast Turkey etc - I did the turkey in the barbie as it was so big (9kg!!) and it actually worked out really well. Used the Delia foil and bacon method but just in the barbie. Only drama came at the end when you are supposed to peel back the foil and give it a blast of high heat for 20 mins to brown the skin... did that and when I opened the lid the foil caught fire ! Being the idiot that I am I thought pouring some of the beer that was to hand on it would be a good idea.. cue explosive fireball !!! So we just shut the lid backdown and the flames went out thankfully..

The turkey was washed down with my current favourite tipple - Mount Pleasant "Elisabeth" Semillon 2000. A bottled aged hunter valley semillon that is quite toasty and oaky but I like that... Followed up with 2 pavlova roulades that I did - one passion fruit and wone lemon.. and then port, baileys and cointreau for those who wanted.. A good evening by all accounts !

Maddy got a doll that cries etc from Uncle Jamin and Auntie Tracey - she is absolutely obsessed by it. She opened it xmas eve during our roast turkey as we allowed her one to open.. and in fact she is so obsessed that on Christmas morning when we emptied out her stocking of presents fro Father Christmas she wasnt really interested - just wanted to cuddle her new baby !

Yesterday was spent at Uncle Jamins house - most of the time in his pool - with a lunch of ham, prawns, cold chicken and salads and copious amounts of beer and mango and strawberry daiquiris which we made... photos to come as they are on someone else's camera..

A few photos here.. will update them next weekend with ones from Christmas day as we are now away foir a few days (down at Robs house on the Gold Coast today and tomorrow, then wed-friday at Noosa (holiday destination on the sunshine coast north of Brisbane) with Charlotte and Steve M and his parents.
